College of Pharmacy Surpasses $20M Goal in But for Ohio State Campaign
On the heels of The Ohio State University meeting its university-wide campaign goal of $2.5 billion, the College of Pharmacy has followed suit, exceeding its fundraising goal of $20 million six months before the But for Ohio State campaign comes to an end.
“We are so pleased with what we have achieved at the College of Pharmacy,” said Henry J. Mann, PharmD, FCCP, FCCM, FASHP, college dean and professor. “This sort of generosity and partnership assures we will continue to enhance the quality of education at Ohio State, and make strides in improving the health of people everywhere.”
Since the beginning of the campaign in 2009, nearly 3,500 donors have propelled the college to the $21 million mark, setting new annual fundraising records twice in the past three years.
Initiatives supporting student scholarships and drug discovery have been the greatest beneficiaries, receiving $6.4 million and $7 million in support respectively. The remaining $7.6 million was designated by contributors for the academic and outreach mission of the college. These gifts have been used to reduce prescription drug abuse, hire world-renown scientists and provide students with improved classroom facilities.
