Pills, Potions, & Poisons Summer Course Accepting Applications
The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy’s Pills, Potions, and Poisons program is accepting applications for its Summer 2014 program. Designed for high school students, it will be held July 7-12 in Pharmacy’s Lloyd M. Parks Hall on Ohio State’s main campus.
The course will give rising 10-12 grade students an overview of pharmacology and its relationship to health, disease and society. Through a variety of approaches, including games, field trips and hands-on experiments, participants will answer questions, such as, “How do we discover new drugs?”
The day camp is open to students interested in the medical sciences. Applications must include a nomination from a science teacher at the applicant's school and a completed application form. The deadline to apply is April 15. There is a $100 fee per student that includes all supplies, meals, snacks, field trip expenses and a t-shirt.
